Last year for the end of the second year show in Ty Crawshaw I made a slight detour from humour and created a political sculpture on the Governments policies on the benefit system. I created three wirs and tissue figures stuck together with pva glue and made them into a mobile. They were lit up internally by torches with a panel in the back of each showing political propaganda. This is a subject I feel strongly and felt the need to make a piece about it. Above are some images.  In the summer following the show I undertook some volunteering in a mental health drop in centre in Cwmbran called CMIG.  They loved the piece as many of the centre users could identify with the emotions evoked by the figures and now it proudly hangs in their art room!
