This is my latest oil painting combining ballet dancers and abstract settings. It is called The Red Shoes after a 1948 film. A young ballet dancer is torn between the man she loves and her pursuit to become a prima ballerina. The figure in the painting is quite reflective and sad and try as I could I couldnot make her more cheerful.
