I first met Mair when I joined her Creative Writing Class.  At that time she was inquiring if anyone knew of a local artist who might be interested in illustrating a pamphlet of her poetry.  Mair’s female biased, power poems resonated with my surreal approach to art and we gelled.   Consequently I agreed to collaborate with her on this project.  The rest is history or to be more specific an illustrated pamphlet.

I really enjoyed the challenge of bringing Mair’s poetry into the visual spectrum, the merging of two art forms and maximizing the impact of the themes expressed.  A wide range of art techniques were used e.g. Pencil, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Collage and Photography with each poem being paired to a sympathetic medium.  The book/pamphlet is to be published this August and I am so excited to see my work in a book.
